Welcome to Week 9 of Connected Learning! Reminder: this is a four day week. Once again we will have a Fix-It day at the end of the week. The more you take your time on your assignments and do your best work in the beginning of the week, the less you'll have to fix later on. All assignments have been posted in Google Classroom for the week. If you have any questions or would like to set-up an individual Zoom session to get help or extra practice, please don't hesitate to reach out. Check out the results of our parachute STEM challenge! Click on the files below to view videos of the parachutes in action. It looks like there were a few rough landings!

Please review my feedback and make necessary fixes if an assignment was returned to you! For directions on how to view feedback or see if an assignment was returned to you, please look for the "Fix It Friday" assignment in your Lydon Homeroom in Google Classroom.
Today, you'll learn more about the importance of protecting the honey bees, and will have the chance to make a bee hotel. We will also have our book club zoom meetings. I can't wait to hear what you think. Look in the "Lydon Homeroom" stream in Google Classroom for meeting information.
Keep up the great work! If you have any questions or would like to set up a private zoom chat, please don't hesitate to reach out! Office Hours: 8-12 Today, I hope you'll channel your inner Laila, as you try out the recipe that goes along with the story "Please, please the bees". If you don't have the ingredients, try mixing up your own creation in honor of the bees. What might taste better with a little honey?!? Perhaps, you can investigate. If you do create a snack, please snap a photo and send it to me. I love to see pictures of the things you're up to.
I'll be hosting three math zoom sessions today at 9:30, 10, and 1:00pm. Please look in the "Lydon Homeroom" stream on Google Classroom for the meeting information. Have a great day! Office Hours 8-12 Are you ready for some musical trivia? Join our Zoom session with Ms. Kjellander this morning. Meeting information can be found in the "Lydon Homeroom" stream in Google Classroom.
In math, you rocked the long division problems with single digit divisors yesterday. So, today we will move on and review long division with double digit divisors. Please let me know if you need any extra practice with this skill. I am happy to set up a zoom session for us to work together. Keep up the great work! Office Hours: 8-12 I hope you all had a restful long weekend! I went on a few really looooooooooong walks in the woods. On Sunday, I came across 3 different snakes sunning themselves in the middle of the trail, and also spotted a porcupine sleeping up in a tree. Even the animals were appreciating the sunny weather! Check out the pictures from our Edible Moon Phase STEM Challenge on Friday! We have a lot of fun hands-on activities for you this week. If you're able to, I'd love to see pictures of your creations! Please send them my way!
Friendly Reminder: Make sure you are taking your time on the assignments and putting forth your best effort. It is my expectation that your answers will be written in complete sentences. Whenever possible, please support your written answers with examples or text evidence. This week, we will be starting "Fix-It Fridays". For directions on how to find out if you have any assignments that need fixing, look in your "Lydon Homeroom" in Google Classroom. This week, I'll continue to offer several optional Zoom sessions, including a music trivia challenge with Ms. Kjellander. You did a great job responding to the science questions about the moon this week. I can't wait to see what you come up with for your Edible Moon Phase STEM Challenge today. Please send pictures! I also can't wait to read your acrostic poems about your independent reading books! Keep up the great work! Office Hours: 8-12 Inspired by Laila, I baked some of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever tasted the other day! What have you been doing to keep busy?

Office Hours: 8-12 Who's your favorite superhero? I'm still undecided. I started watching all of the Marvel movies in chronological order with my niece and nephew (Anna and Jake). We made it about halfway through the list before they moved to Morocco. So, now I have to wait until they come home ( a year from now) to finish watching the rest.
