Good Afternoon Families!
I hope you all are having a nice weekend. I have received training and am working diligently with my team to prepare a smooth transition for our students into Google Classroom beginning Monday, April 6. At this time, I do not feel ready to roll it out to all the kids for this week's work. So this week we will continue with the same platform as last week! On Thursday there will be a practice Google Classroom assignment so I can make sure everyone can access their account and view an assignment. I can tell you it is not a video classroom where kids need to be at their computers at a specific time. It is very similar to what we are already doing. Classroom will just help kids organize their work and help them to know what is due and what they missed all in one place. They will click on an assignment, complete it and click submit. That's it! No more creating documents or trying to find a Google Slide. It also gives them a to-do list (which you can look at with them) so you can quickly and easily see what they have completed and what they haven't. Finally, it gives me a way to give an assignment back to them for editing or revision. Google Classroom makes it difficult for them to miss my feedback. =) As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me. To summarize - no Google Classroom this week, no specific meeting times. We will do a test assignment on Thursday with a roll out the following week. Have a great rest of your weekend! ~Ms. Lydon
